What I collect, and why
When you say hello: your names, your email, your phone if you give it, your wedding date, the venue and city, how you heard about me, and anything you choose to add. I use this to reply to you, to tell you whether I’m free on your date and, if you go ahead, to prepare your proposal and contract.
If you book: the details in your contract, your payment records, what your church or venue agrees about filming and recording, and the film and sound I record at your wedding. I use these to make and deliver what you booked, to get paid and to keep the records the law requires.
The people in your film: your film shows and records you, your family and your guests, including faces and voices. I use that material only to make your film, your stills, your audio keepsake and your private page. Clips are shown in public only if you say yes in writing. You can download your film, back it up and share it privately with family and friends. I keep the copyright.
This website: it does not use advertising trackers or social-media widgets, and it loads no scripts or fonts from other companies. The site stores one small preference in your browser if you use it, your choice to show captions on the film. It is not used to identify you and is not shared.
Your consent
When you send the form, you are asking me to reply, and I use your details for that. If you book, I use your details to deliver what you booked. I ask you first before using your information for anything else. You can withdraw your consent at any time, subject to what a contract or the law requires me to keep. If you do, tell me and I’ll explain what that means for you.
Who else sees it
I do not sell or rent your information. I share information when the law requires it.
Where it is kept and how it is protected
If information is stored or handled outside Canada, the laws of that country may let its authorities see it. No safeguard is perfect, and I will tell you if something goes wrong that matters.
How long I keep it
Your film and private page: online for as long as Story Driven runs, included, with no yearly fee, and yours to download and keep forever. If you stop, or if I ever close the business, I give you 12 months’ notice and a download link so you keep your files.
Your rights
You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask for a copy, ask me to correct anything that is wrong, and ask me to stop using it for a purpose you did not agree to. I answer within 30 days. To ask, use the contact details above.
I reply to what you send me. I do not send marketing or newsletter email.
If something goes wrong with your information
If a breach of my safeguards creates a real risk of serious harm to you, I will tell you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as soon as I can, and I keep a record of every breach.
Children
This website is for couples planning a wedding and is not aimed at children. Children may appear in a wedding film as guests.

Changes
If I change this page I will update the date at the top. If a change affects how I use information you have already given me, I will tell you first.
